Wenyan nodded, “I’ve come across it online. I heard it’s really popular among the original novel’s fans, and with the male and female leads being top-notch actors, everyone is convinced it’s going to be a hit just from the character posters.”
“That’s great, Wang Che. I’ve heard even the roles with just a bit of screen time are quite remarkable in the novel. If you could join that crew and land any role, you should be able to ride on the show’s coattails and it would also be a chance to improve your acting skills.”
Wang Che sighed, “You’re right, but I’m not sure I’m up to it. The reason I was picked for ‘Lost Voice’ last time was because I rode on your coattails. This time, I’m not so confident. Why don’t you come with me later? My agent scheduled it for half an hour from now, and you said you’re free, right?”
“But what would I be going there for?”
“Inside information,” Wang Che lowered his voice, “The actor originally cast for the role I’m auditioning for got caught for tax evasion. When he joined the crew, he even brought along several other actors, who seem to have their own issues, more or less.
“You know how it is, if this blows up, the whole show could go down the drain, so the production team wouldn’t dare to risk using them. They’re planning to replace them all. Come with me, and there might be a chance for you to snag a role too. Give it a shot, who knows what might happen.”
