Chapter 264: I Might Be Rough

Soon enough, the burning warehouse was surrounded by several pack soldiers and curious civilians. Somehow, word spread out that the shape-shifting vampire who’d been terrorizing the pack all this while was burning underneath the rubble of that warehouse.
Luckily, the warehouse was pretty much isolated from other buildings so the flames couldn’t spread.
Rhett held Isleen close as they watched the flames burn. With his keen werewolf eyesight, he was able to peer through the flames and was shocked by what he saw next.
"H– He’s still alive." He stuttered with disbelief as he held Isleen even closer, secretly fearing that Fergus would rise from the flames and snatch her away from him.
The pack civilians hurled curses at the vampire even as he walked out of the flames. To everyone’s surprise, he fought through the pack soldiers and barrage of weapons and bullets before stopping a few meters in front of Rhett and Isleen.
Gamma Rhett noticed the way the vampire’s eyes lingered on Isleen and held her closer, giving him a menacing glare.
After the bastard kept calling Isleen ’Megami’, nothing could prepare Rhett for what he said next.
"I–I think this is what you mortals call... Love." Fergus stuttered with a wry smile.
