Chapter 213: Sweet, Sweet, Fear!

"So... Where were we?" After Fergus asked that with a wicked grin on his face, the Beta began shaking his head wildly.
He stretched his hands forward, a pleading look on his face as he rubbed his palms together in a desperate move to plead for mercy.
"P– please. I beg of you. What do you want? Money? A position at the top of the pack?" Darius’s eyes shone with trepidation and they fluttered like a madman’s too. "I– I– I can get the Alpha to make you the new Gamma! I– I could get him to remove me and make you the Beta! Please, just... Just spare me."
Fergus chuckled amusingly. Fascinating!
These wolves were all shades of corruption in the shadows, and this groveling Beta here was a perfect representation of all that corruption. Imagine him insinuating that he was able to influence the Alpha’s decisions. If that was the case, just how many other times had he gotten the Alpha to do other things to please his sorry ass?
Now that Fergus thought about it, he was doing Raven Wood Pack a favor. If anything, they’d owe him for helping them execute such a corrupt person.
Ignoring Darius’s mortified expression, Fergus circled the dead bodies of the soldiers. The sweet metallic smell of blood hit his nose, working on his brain like a drug. He smirked as he licked his lips.
After squatting, he brought out his fangs and caressed the headless stump of one of the bodies with an eerie tenderness that sent a cold shiver down Beta Darius’s spine, as he began crying at the corner. Fergus’s fingers stroked the jagged bones of the neck and his body shivered with twisted delight.
