Chapter 140: _ Time To Go Home
Looking into Farkas’s eyes, "You are right, Farkas. At this point, I don’t see us winning without adopting these measures, but the question is– how would this idea of yours be received by the pack? Would people be willing to let go of their first sons in the name of this war?"
"We are only taking the ones who are up to age. We are not causing any harm, but trying to help. The people will see that." Farkas shrugged. "It’s either that or they lose more than one of their family. Besides, we have the best warriors in the Ravenwood pack. They would get them ready. We are winning this, Rhett. We will."
Of course, they’d win. Rhett would give up his life if he had to. They just had to win. He had a lot to lose.
Sighing and staring into the oblivion, "I’ll have to go to the Alpha tomorrow and let him know of our plans."
"What Alpha?" Farkas almost shouted. "The bastard who hadn’t bothered to come check on the pack since last night? Do you call that one an Alpha? Rhett, it’s so obvious that the Alpha and Beta didn’t care what happened to the pack as long as they were safe! Let’s just save ourselves and keep them out of it." Farkas hissed out, anger bubbling up inside of him.
If Rhett said he didn’t understand where Farkas was coming from, he’d be a hypocrite. He, more than anyone was too pained by this incident. He couldn’t fathom why Aceco who had just forty-five members of her people in the pack would come out of her hideout despite how crucial it was that she stayed protected while the Alpha and Beta who were supposed to be protectors of the pack would bitch around, hidden and exhibit their nonchalance toward the people in these trying times.
As if to add to the sauce, "Do you ever wonder why the precinct suffered this much?" Farkas asked.
"Is there a reason for it?" Rhett raised a brow.
Farkas’s anger was palpable. "Of course!" He scoffed. "The Alpha pulled half of the security here to his house to protect him and his family just when the battle was getting intense. We lost more men in the station— we lost Alistair because of it, Rhett. Because of the Alpha and Beta."
