Chapter 137: _ Revelation II
"If so, why then did they kill Aella and her husband?" Asked Farkas suspiciously.
With lips trembling, "T-they warned us that if I didn’t work for them to lift the veil, they would kill Aella and her husband next."
"And didn’t you work for them and lift the veil?" Rhett frowned and asked.
Lowering her head like a kitten caught in the act, Cora winced. "I did. I am the one who has been lifting the veil all these times."
"And did you get Reed killed too? Since he was last seen with you." Rhett wanted to know.
Cora shot her head up with widened eyes. "No, no. That’s not me. I never did that. I and Reed wanted to go find Aella and the others. I needed to act along and go help him find them anyway, but when we parted ways and agreed to meet at a rendezvous, Reed never showed up. When I found him, he was with that little boy and acting weird too. He was dressed in black and covered in blood and wouldn’t explain. He left with that little wolf boy. That was the last I saw of him before..." She couldn’t finish as she buried her head in her hands in shame.
Liam affirmed that Reed was covered in blood. He also asserted that he wore strange clothing but Cora never said anything about returning to the woods and Liam made it clear that she did.
Who amongst them both was lying about that piece of information? It was clear that Cora was a liar, but was Liam one too?
Time to find out.
He turned to Aceco. "Aceco?" He called the Aceco who was now moving around the apartment, observing something Rhett couldn’t see.
"Aceco?"he addressed her again, "could you perhaps verify something for me?"
