"I can’t believe it..." Lucas murmured as he gently rested his head on Kyra’s stomach. A soft smile spread across his face. "Hi, baby..." he whispered.
Damon glanced at Kyra’s blood-soaked clothes and sighed. "We need to change her clothes," he said, his voice calm but firm.
"Okay," Lucas agreed, still lost in his happiness.
Damon shot him a look, his patience thinning. "Get out, Lucas. I’ll change her clothes."
Lucas sat up, confused. "Why should I? I’m her mate. Let me do it," he insisted, a bit too cheerful for the situation.
Damon’s jaw clenched, "Lucas, just go," he said, his tone barely holding back the frustration.
"No I am her mate I will change her clothes.." Lucas said pouting.
"FINE!" Damon snapped, his voice cold as he glared at Lucas and put towel near him.
Inwardly, Damon’s thoughts churned. When I become her mate, I’ll see how you react when I lay my claim on her, he thought bitterly, casting one last glance at Lucas before turning to leave the room.
