Chapter 225 Kyra prizes
"Ky-Ky?" Lucas called out softly as he entered the room, his eyes narrowing with concern. Kyra was sitting on the bed, muttering something to herself, her expression intense and distant. Lucas scratched his head, a mix of confusion and worry tugging at him. Lately, Kyra had been acting strange—more distant, lost in her own world, and he couldn’t help but wonder if she was losing it.
He approached her slowly, careful not to startle her. "Ky-ky... are you okay?" he asked, trying to keep his voice calm and soothing, though his mind raced with concern.
Kyra snapped out of her trance, blinking up at Lucas as if seeing him for the first time. "Luca... I... I was just thinking about something," she mumbled, her eyes darting around the room.
Lucas sighed, sitting down beside her on the bed. "You’ve been acting really weird lately, Ky-Ky. Is it because Vincent isn’t here? Are you missing him that much?"
Kyra’s eyes widened slightly at the mention of Vincent, but she quickly looked away, not wanting Lucas to see the turmoil in her gaze. "No... it’s not just that," she replied quietly. "There’s... a lot on my mind."
Lucas frowned, not entirely convinced. He couldn’t deny that the absence of Vincent was affecting all of them, but there was something more going on with Kyra, something she wasn’t telling him. And while he didn’t mind sharing her with Vincent, it didn’t mean he didn’t get jealous. The thought of Vincent being the cause of Kyra’s distress gnawed at him.
"You know you can talk to me, right?" Lucas said, trying to sound more understanding than frustrated. "I’m here for you, Ky-ky. Whatever it is, we’ll figure it out together."
Kyra glanced at Lucas, her heart softening at the concern in his voice. She wanted to tell him everything—her past life memories, her beast, the dark shadows haunting her thoughts—but how could she burden him with all of that? How could she explain something she barely understood herself?
Instead, she gave him a small, sad smile. "I know, Luca. I just need a little more time to figure things out."
