With that task done, Kyra went back downstairs to the kitchen.
She felt a bit tired but also satisfied with her efforts. She started preparing breakfast, chopping vegetables and setting up the stove. She wanted to surprise Damon with a hearty meal once he woke up.
As she cooked, the aroma of the food filled the house. She knew her cooking wasn’t as good as Damon’s, but it was good enough to eat, she thought as she walked upstairs again.
She took out another set of clothes for herself and washed her body, cleaning her teeth and getting ready for the day. Feeling refreshed, she walked back toward the bed and saw that Damon was already awake.
He was sitting up, rubbing his eyes and looking a bit more rested than before. Seeing her approach, he gave a sleepy smile. "Morning, little thing," he greeted her, his voice still a bit groggy.
"Good morning," she replied, smiling back. "I made breakfast. It might not be as good as yours, but it’s ready."
Damon stretched and got out of bed, walking over to her. "I’m sure it’s great," he said, giving her a reassuring smile. "Thank you for taking care of everything this morning."
She blushed slightly, feeling a warmth in her chest. "It’s the least I could do."
Damon looked at her with a smile. She was really different from other females. Most wouldn’t even know how to cook, but Kyra did, and it made him feel special to eat food made by her. It felt more comfortable and homely than the tight, rigid life most males lived after getting a female.
