"I was very scared that time," Kyra recounted, her voice trembling slightly. "I had been there for hours, and the rain wasn’t stopping at all. When I heard a wolf howl, I got even more scared. But then Lucas came like a light in the darkness. I thought I was done for, but he showed me he meant no harm by patting his paws near my legs. He let me pet him and hug him. At that moment, he was like an angel. You see me here today just because of him." she said, smiling at the memory as she looked at Vincent.
Lucas, happy to hear her praise, kissed her cheek, making Kyra laugh.
Vincent felt a twinge of jealousy, wishing he had met Kyra first, but he was grateful to Lucas for saving her.
Still, he wasn’t about to express his gratitude out loud, or else the wolf might become a flying wolf.
"And what are scientists, periods, and car-like things?" Vincent asked Kyra, with Lucas having the same question.
"A scientist is someone who studies and researches to understand the natural world," Kyra explained. "And periods are when females bleed every month for about six or seven days."
"You’re talking about heat." Lucas asked, trying to understand.
"Yeah, and a car is something that makes it easy to get from one place to another, in simple terms." Kyra continued.
"And what’s a superpower? Your world is so weird; I don’t understand many things." Lucas said, pouting.
"A superpower is a special ability that gives someone extraordinary strength or skills beyond normal human capabilities." Kyra explained, her eyes falling on Vincent, who looked lost in thought.
"Vincent, you don’t have anything to ask?" Kyra asked, squeezing his large hands.
