Chapter 498: A Glorious Day! I

Chapter 498: A Glorious Day! I

The chaotic battle raged, a maelstrom of harmonic light and narrative plague!

At its heart, Mor’dantius the Harvest King erupted.

OOH!

His rage was a cosmic event. Silver stellar authority, the very substance of his Existential Authority of Fables, poured from his being, a story of absolute dominance being written across reality.

The space for light-years around them warped, bending to the will of his narrative!

It seemed an extremely critical time, as if the full, unrestrained rage of this terrifying Tier 9 Nar’Thyss was about to be exerted, to unwrite this entire battlefield and all the defiant characters within it!

And somehow, in that very period of time, light-years away, a young woman who had been clinging to life in a hospital bed mere weeks ago smiled devilishly as she tapped her finger into the void.

When she did tap, a fiery green set of double-helical stranded DNA material erupted from her fingertip!

It was a beautiful, terrible thing. If one could look closer, past the vibrant emerald glow, they would see the segments of this genetic code actually had little, tiny patterns that looked like smiling faces.

They seemed innocent at first glance, the kind of playful design a child might draw. But the more one looked, the more the smiles twisted, becoming devilish, unsettling, promising a joke whose punchline was oblivion.

It looked to be a really simple thing that she had released!

The strand of weaponized genetics floated out, and with an almost palpable hunger, it began to drink in the narrative authority suffusing the local space. Rose had engineered it to be extremely conducive and absorbent to the authority of Fables

The moment it came into contact with the grand, silver tide of authority that the Harvest King was radiating out all around, it was akin to putting a sponge into an ocean…a sponge whose qualities had been ridiculously, impossibly elevated.

In the next moment, unseen by common eyes, visible only to Rose’s own and the distant, narrative-space perception of Achilles, the strands of genetic code she had released rapidly enlarged.

They bloomed, soaking in all the surrounding authority of Fables before they proceeded to integrate with it, becoming one with the silver tide, and then rapidly shot out towards their origin.

It was a terrifying progression of events. This was a poison, but it was a poison that was hard to say if any other entity in the Null Scale of Existence could have conceived, let alone created.

The poison now branded itself fervently to the narrative authority and moved unfathomably quickly. In one instant, it had crossed half the battlefield, a silent, emerald thread in an ocean of silver. In the next instant, it had already crossed the vast remaining distances to permeate the very source. It entered the Harvest King’s body.

It entered the body of Mor’dantius!

And initially, he did not sense or feel a thing. After all, why would he? The poison was so extremely attuned to the authority of Fables that it merely acted like so. It flowed into the Harvest King’s body as if it were simply his own expended units of authority returning to him.

One of the more devastating things a poison could have is the capability to spread across one’s body without them figuring out anything. Without a person even realizing that they were poisoned.

The deadliest poisons of all were the ones where, out of nowhere, you simply found yourself unable to move, unable to talk, unable to do absolutely anything as the entire circulations of your body and existence simply ceased.

Rose had studied a lot about poisons when she made this particular one. She had created it in a deadly and horrid fashion.

At this moment, the Harvest King, still blissfully ignorant, waved a wing. The gesture contained droves of terrifying Existential Authority of Fables that instantly swatted away the massive visage of the Titan-Primus Shal’garon. The Tier 9 Titan roared as he was sent tumbling through space, his harmonic defenses cracking under the narrative weight.

With his primary opponent momentarily dealt with, Mor’dantius began to head towards the lone figure of Achilles, who stood in the graveyard of his fallen army. His grand, arrogant voice was a narrative decree that rewrote the air itself.

“I came to this tiny, insignificant Star Sea for a simple mission, a simple Fable of conquest. But for managing to enrage me this much…for spoiling my story with your dissonant noise… I will allow your existence to simmer in the fiery depths of a hellish fable for a thousand years before I collapse it entirely.”

Towards such terrifying words, Achilles actually remained perfectly still, his imperious glare fixed on the approaching god-butterfly. His entire body, his crystalline titan form, seemed to give off the allure of a grand king, of a grand emperor, even though he did not mean to! He said nothing, even as the Harvest King continued to saunter over, appearing right in front of him, his visage enraged and filled with bustling power.

Mor’dantius sneered, his many eyes dripping with condescension. “What is this? Are you now so filled with fear? When a true powerhouse stands before you, you cannot even move? Are you that struck with fear and cowardice?”

At such words, Achilles waved his hand, showing his empty palm. On it, a sun of nothingness began to form. It spun slowly, giving off temperatures of nothingness that seemed scorching and cold at the same time, a paradox that made the space around it weep. While he did this, his grand and brutal voice echoed out, a counter-narrative to the Harvest King’s own.

“In Star Sea Gamma-7, on this day, the great and glorious Harvest King dies in a way that he cannot fathom or understand. His whole Fable, the Fable of the Nar’Thyss, begins unraveling on this day, even though he won’t live to know or understand exactly what is happening. He thought himself to be something glorious, something that would continue to live through Fables and control and steer countless others. And yet, on this day, he becomes a mere footnote. Less than a page in the Fable of another.”

BOOM!

Hearing these words, the Harvest King became even more livid and enraged. “INSOLENCE!” he roared.

His butterfly-like wings spread wide, and from them, he formed a glorious, radiant, silver lightning filled with potent Existential Authority of Fables. Its potency and power were so terrifying that it could have decimated weaker Tier 9 Null Scale existences.

And yet, the moment after he formed it, as he was ready to unleash it alongside his rage, Achilles looked up. He merely said… The most update n0vels are published on nοvelfire.net

“What are you doing, little Harvest King? Who told you that you could still move? Stop.”

..!

Stop.

A simple word. A ridiculously simple word that had absolutely no place in the current situation. Why the hell would a terrifying existence such as the Harvest King, at the peak of his rage, heed the words of someone who had so thoroughly enraged him?

And yet, in the next moment, the visage of the Harvest King, shockingly, remained absolutely still.

The entire battlefield fell silent. The chaotic symphony of war ceased. Even the distant Titan-Primus Shal’garon, who had been about to surge back over to lend aid…because he knew that if that powerful, unknown crystalline titan fell, all of them would surely be extinguished soon after…came to a dead stop.

He watched with utter incredulity as, the moment after the word “Stop” was uttered… the massive body of the Harvest King, truly and undoubtedly, came to a stop.

In Achilles’s hand, the sun of nothingness had finished being forged. It was massive in scale, terrifying in stature. And at this moment, as if he were releasing a bubble of light, Achilles allowed the sun of nothingness to float forward, drifting gently towards the chest of the frozen Harvest King.

His voice was a whisper, a brutal secret shared only between executioner and condemned, his words reaching Mor’dantius’s consciousness as he looked into his incredulous and uncomprehending eyes.

“Today, you were merely the first to fall, but I thank you for your service. Because the moment you do fall, your nutrients and power will go towards building a grand future. With your fall, the fall of the Nar’Thyss has now fully and truly begun. So do not despair, O Harvest King, for you are merely the first, but you will not be the last.”

After these words, the terrifying sun of nothingness reached the chest of the Harvest King. His terrifying grandeur, his power, his authority, ridiculously did nothing to stop it.

The single word “Stop” had been listened to with such surety, such certainty, that it forced all the authority within his body to do nothing against the encroaching attack.

From incredulity, his eyes slowly began to show fear. Fear of not understanding exactly what was happening. And as he felt the authority of nothingness actually begin to eat away and collapse his very makeup of existence, his fear gave way to terror.

When one did not understand, they feared. And after fearing, they could do nothing but fall into terror as they asked themselves just what was happening and how it could possibly be happening. At a moment like this, there was no answer that would satisfy a fearful and terrified mind.

Achilles floated forward, the Regulation of Quantum making his movement effortless. He appeared right on the head of the Harvest King, who remained frozen with his silver lightning of authority still raised high in the sky, a monument to his own impotence.

The crystalline titan form of Achilles faded away at such a moment, and he returned to his humanoid form. He looked like a tiny speck of dust compared to the massive, glorious, grand butterfly form of the Tier 9 existence. And right after, Achilles raised his hand, placing it gently upon the head of this being, who was completely and utterly frozen by a narrative poison, and now, the collapsing of his Existential Authority of Fables.

To top it all off… he whispered softly and calmly, as if he were tucking a baby to sleep.

He whispered…

“Assimilate.”

It was the word of a lullaby. An ending.

And after that, glorious immensity and wonder happened. A brilliant platinum-purple-gold light radiated from Achilles’s form as he began to gloriously devour and assimilate the very essence of a Tier 9 existence!

Ohh, what a glorious and unfathomable day this was!
