Chapter 470: Ch
Mav even looked at Ritik, completely speechless by this, and blinked his eyes while constantly turning to look at Ritika, as if to say, What is up with your sister, dude? What is she even saying? And what beauty?
Ritik, seeing that, was momentarily speechless himself before rolling his eyes and shrugging his shoulders, as if to say, How would I know? Anyway, don’t involve me in your matter. Deal with it yourself. Who knows what she will do to me if I say anything and she misinterprets it? You are on your own.
Mav was caught off guard by this, as he was able to guess what Ritik was saying. He was stunned and clicked his tongue, thinking, What kind of man are you, dude? So fearful of your sister—a sister that cute at that. What harm can she do to you? Boneless fellow. Thinking that, he exaggeratedly conveyed his thoughts to Ritik through hand signs.
Hmph, what cute and what harmless? You, a person without an evil sister, how would you know the fear of it? Today you can say that to me, but tomorrow would be my day. Hmph. Ritik, not to be outdone, also conveyed his thoughts through hand signs and body language, leaving Mav no choice but to seal his mouth as he looked towards his "harmless" High Admiral.
At that moment, he seemed to remember the Battle of the Red Ocean Star System within the Universal Plain—an ultra-large star system with four stars, each a hundred times or more larger than Earth’s Sun, and more than two hundred planets, each even bigger than Jupiter and Saturn. The whole star system was bigger than a Super Star System by twenty times, if not more.
Let’s say a Super Star System can be anything from 10 light-years up to, at most, 20 light-years in size. But this one was more than twenty times bigger.
The star system was filled with the Blood Berserker Race—a powerful race with bodies like orcs, strength like Minotaurs, and vitality like ancient elephants. They were so strong that they had given their batch a run for their money.
Defeating a single member of this race took the combined effort of ten people at the same realm. And those were just ordinary Blood Berserkers. The true elites could easily bash apart a hundred of them.
And that was despite everyone in the batch being able to fight opponents a few levels, and even a major realm, above their own. Yet they were helpless against these Blood Berserkers. One of the biggest reasons was the ultimate recovery these berserkers possessed. Even serious injuries could heal within a few seconds, or at most thirty seconds to a minute.
Mostly because of the laws of the Red Ocean Star that favored these berserkers. And the second reason was that the more they suffered, the more powerful they became. At first, one could handle them one-on-one, but as they became more injured, it became unbearable for one or even two people to stop the berserker’s attacks without getting beaten to half death before being saved.
Even he had suffered against them at the start, just like everyone else in his batch did. So much so that, at one point, he had even wanted to team up with others for once just to lessen his own suffering.
Then he saw how Ritika took on two Blood Berserkers at once, and despite suffering grievous injuries herself, she still held on and ultimately defeated both berserkers.
The sight made him shudder with both fear and amazement at Ritika’s valor.
And that was the very moment he completely awakened his class, as if he had suddenly attained enlightenment. It was also the reason he eventually came to dominate his entire batch, become its leader, and ultimately earn the title of Grand Admiral.
And remembering that made him shudder once again as he recalled what he had forgotten. Ritika was harmless only from the outside, but on the inside she was a beast that even his fleet feared, and he couldn’t help but want to go back into the past and bonk himself for ever thinking of her as harmless.
Just as he was about to dive deeper into those thoughts, a telegram was received from the other two Grand Fleets. The situation was that they were about to begin their attack and were asking how his preparations were going.
Only then did he realize that he was in the middle of starting a battle and that he should be a bit more serious about it.
Otherwise, wouldn’t he fall behind the others?
No, he couldn’t let that happen.
With that, he became serious once again and pushed those thoughts to the back of his mind.
"Cough... cough..." He coughed to cover up his embarrassment before saying, "Okay, enough jokes. We have a battle to finish. Let’s deal with that first. Everything else is secondary."
He spoke solemnly.
Hearing this, Ritika’s playfulness vanished, and she returned to her serious demeanor, straightening herself. The same happened with Ritik as he asked,
"So, what is the plan, Grand Admiral?"
"Seeing how strongly they are protecting this border territory just by the deployment of so many defense installations and such a vast fleet, going in directly won’t work, right?"
He asked seriously as he looked towards the holographic chart of the star system projected not far from him.
Countless red dots were marked across the star system.
Although they were spread throughout the entire system, they remained heavily concentrated, with almost no gaps in their formation except on the opposite side of the star system, the side that led deeper into the inner territories of the Bright Moon Republic.
"Indeed, we can’t go in directly. Even though that is an option given our current scale and power, and something I would have opted for at this moment for it being the easiest way," Mav analyzed and said with a sigh.
Ritika frowned and said with a thoughtful expression, "No, going in directly would not be optimistic.
Our communication blocker might be able to cover the whole star system, but our graviton wells won’t be able to do that. They are still far behind in development compared to our other technologies."
Ritik, too, hearing his sister’s observation, said, "And that could be harmful for the later part of the Imperial Commander’s own mission.
A few of them could definitely escape before we completely neutralize their forces and let the news of our attack reach the Head of State of the Bright Moon Republic.
Through them, the attacks on the other two Tier-3 factions by Grand Admirals Yuki and Anky would also most likely become known by connecting the dots."
Saying that, he paused and gave a look to his sister, who nodded her head in response, as if understanding what he was thinking and agreeing with him.
Receiving the support he wanted, he continued, "And not only that, this news might alert the Star Empire as well and would affect the Imperial Commander’s mission."
"Hmm..." Hearing this, Mav’s brain gears began to work at an even faster rate. After a few seconds, he nodded his head, arriving at the same conclusion and result that both Ritika and Ritik had pointed towards.
"That is indeed something we can’t do. But both of you should sometimes stay quiet for a moment before letting me finish, or at least hear it carefully before saying something," he admonished them speechlessly, though he wasn’t serious. Both Ritika and Ritik could tell.
"What I said previously was something I would have opted for, not that I would actually go for it."
Mav rolled his eyes at his two High Admirals.
"My plan is this. Instead of what you both thought, I will launch a frontal attack with my own fleet. While both of you, using the Warp Gate Ships, will directly open portals behind the Bright Moon Republic’s defense forces, forming a triangle. And within that triangle will be the entire defense force of the Bright Moon Republic."
"There, we can begin launching a three-way attack on them at the same time, achieving multiple goals. One of them would be ensuring that we have the entire area covered by our Graviton Wells, allowing none of the Republic’s ships to escape, ensuring that our mission doesn’t create problems for the others."
"How is this plan?" Mav said before asking sarcastically, "Now both of you can cook whatever you want in your minds and then tell me if there’s any problem with this plan that we should be paying attention to."
Ritika and Ritik, who were constantly nodding their heads as they heard the plan, instantly became speechless.
Though they knew he was just being sarcastic, the thing was, this plan ultimately covered almost all the negative points of simply launching a straight frontal attack. Instead, it gave them the chance to catch the enemy by surprise and quickly rout them using their extremely high fighting power.
