By midday the next day, Wang Haoran arrived at the restaurant near Qingling University as promised.
Just as Liu Yue had said, her Seventh Younger Sister Qiu Qianwei and Sixth Younger Sister Ji Shuiyao were already waiting. Unexpectedly, Lin Chen was there too. He must've heard about the gathering last minute and tagged along uninvited.
When Wang Haoran stepped into the private room, both Qiu Qianwei and Ji Shuiyao looked up at him with soft, affectionate eyes. Liu Yue, meanwhile, was still chatting casually with Lin Chen. As soon as she saw Wang Haoran arrive, she raised a brow
"You really have no sense of time, do you? Look, you're late again."
Wang Haoran pulled out his phone and checked. "How am I late? There's still one minute left."
Lin Chen blinked, glanced at the time, and realized he'd been wrong. But his pride wouldn't let it go, so he grumbled, "Even if you're not late, showing up at the last minute and making everyone wait-aren't you even a little embarrassed?"

Liu Yue looked at the two of them with mild surprise. "What's going on with you two? You seem awfully familiar with my student. Why do you both sound like you're siding with him?*

Lin Chen, sitting off to the side, let out a quiet breath of relief. He had long suspected that Wang Haoran might be the so- called "scumbag" his Seventh Sister had mentioned. But if she said they were just friends--especially in front of family -then it had to be true. After all, there was no reason for her to lie to her own siblings.
What he didn't know was that his Seventh Sister was already so obedient to a certain someone that if he asked her to keep their relationship secret, she wouldn't say a word--not even to family.
"Let's order," Liu Yue said, pressing the service bell.
Soon after, a server entered the room with a menu and naturally handed it to the person nearest-the guest, Wang Haoran.
Lin Chen tried to snatch it. "I'll order."
"Let the guest order," Liu Yue scolded, lightly knocking him on the forehead and taking the menu back. She then handed it to Wang Haoran.
