Chapter 466: Boiling
Malaya felt as though her body was well and truly beginning to gasp for air. She had never felt such a powerful healing energy in her life, and never did she expect that she would actually feel it come from Water Mana of all things.
She coughed, globules of thick, coagulated blood coming out in streams of what almost looked and felt like vomit, but certainly wasn’t.
In real time, she regained her life, her frailty vanishing until she was once again that simple, sweet girl.
Malaya shook as she felt her life returning to her. She was smart enough to understand that Theron had only just learned how to do this, but it also made it all the more obvious to her just what sort of situation he was in.
He was so much stronger than Karra, and yet he had to learn from her. How many things did he not know simply because he was born too low in the world? Or because he had spent too little time cultivating?
He threw his life into this ring of life and death purely for the sake of his family, and now there seemed to be only one way out...
And it wasn’t life.
Theron gently pressed a hand to Malaya’s cheek, his Water Mana streaking over her face and wiping it clear of blood, sweat, and tears. Like this, she was back to pristine condition as though she hadn’t suffered any hardship at all.
"My mother once told me that you won’t ever expect who you fall in love with. But she also told me that my father was immediately the most handsome man she had ever seen until I was born. She says a lot of things, most contradictory, but she says them with passion and heart that I can’t possibly ignore.
"You have every right in the world to hate him, and I won’t be making any confessions to you today, not any true ones. But know that I meant the words I spoke."
He helped Malaya to her feet. Ripping off his upper robes, he revealed the inner armor below and slowly tied her to his back.
Malaya’s heart raced out of her chest. Suddenly, her mind turned to their wedding day procession, that day Theron didn’t allow a single drop of water to fall on her head.
