Karra frowned. Was this the True Chosen her father was speaking about? He’s a Water Mancer as well?
But what was the point of what Gian was saying right now?
"For you to be up here on your own, your father and grandfather must be in quite the pickle, huh? You know, you all did have the advantage. But the thing with having the clear advantage is that everyone else knows it too. It makes you all the obvious target.
"Even now, no one wants to offend the Seijin, so they’re practically playing patty cake with the youth down there. And then there’s the Harmon Clan that just randomly appeared out of nowhere, hm?"
Gian’s body practically floated over to Malaya’s side, sitting on the rock she leaned against weakly. The latter trembled and then froze, not daring to even breathe too loudly. But she knew that there was no point in trying to escape. Gian would never allow it.
"You tell me, Theron. Would you marry the beautiful Miss Karra Black instead of your Malaya if it gave you a better chance at your revenge?"
Karra frowned, her confusion deepening, but a flicker of rage coming from the depths of her heart. Everything she was, was precisely what Thessa hoped to be.
She had long taken control of her own life, and she had a straight line to becoming the first Matriarch of the Black Clan. Hearing such crude words spoken about her as though the likes of Theron could just decide to marry her whenever he so pleased pissed her off.
However, the fury she held had nothing to do with Theron. It was this old man who deemed it right to say such words before her.
