Cynthia Rosberg wore a pleasant smile as she praised Megan Taylor, seated across from her. “Your recent shows have been excellent. Ratings are up significantly.”
Megan knew her boss hadn’t called her in just for compliments. She hinted, “That’s because we’ve had explosive headlines, which give the team a strong foundation to create compelling content.”
Cynthia’s tone shifted. “And the expenses have been significant, too. Last night, we spent $100,000 on just one piece of news.”
Prepared for this, Megan responded directly, “A reporter captured footage of Sarah Parker and her husband, Bro Derek, engaging in a threesome with a former male model.”
Cynthia sighed. “Sarah Parker’s husband is Bro Derek, an executive and producer at Ackman Pictures. I’ve told you before—any news involving prominent producers must be handled with caution.”
Her voice grew firmer. “This story needs to be shelved. Do not air it.”
Megan objected, “That story cost us $100,000, and the team signed a transfer agreement. We can’t just waste it.”
