The old lady felt that there might be something going on between Lanhua and Young Master Yu, and she was quite happy to see it happen. In her opinion, Yu Fenglin is a decent young man.
Since Lanhua wasn’t around, the old lady didn’t stay long and planned to come back the next day to ask Lanhua’s opinion.
If she thought it was feasible, then the old lady would inform Lord Yu so that both parties could meet officially.

The workshop was already built, and most of the dormitories were finished. These days her father was busy making the oil pressing tools.
Therefore, early the next morning, Shu Yu set off for the manor.
The workshop was built two miles southwest of the manor. Shu Yu parked the carriage at the manor and then walked over with Ying Xi.
The workshop was built quite large, and there was a grand scale to the construction when it started. Naturally, the villagers from several nearby villages were very curious and would often come over to take a look.

A moment after Shu Yu arrived, someone from Shangshi Village who had a good relationship with Lu Erbai was pushed by the crowd to come in front of her and asked, "Monarch Lu Xiang, when is our workshop hiring? How about my spouse? And my brother, both are very diligent."
Shu Yu was momentarily stunned, then smiled, "We are indeed planning to hire in the next couple of days." She looked outside at the crowd who were working while listening intently and simply raised her voice, "If anyone in your family is interested, they can come and try."
The crowd was delighted, but before they could start cheering, Shu Yu quickly added, "But let me say this upfront, I’m planning to hire about thirty to forty people this time, so spots are limited. Therefore, we certainly need diligent and hard-working individuals, and it’s even better if they can read and write. Moreover, we will sign a contract, and there will be penalties for violating contract terms. I know all of my uncles and aunts have a good relationship with my dad, and you probably know my temperament somewhat. I won’t give preferential treatment just because someone is a fellow villager or a relative. I will uphold the principles of fairness, justice, and openness in recruitment."
Everyone looked at each other, and some felt that this method was the best, especially those workers who were not from Shangshi Village nor related to the Lu family. They were greatly relieved as now they had a fair chance to compete.
