BLOODCAPE

Chapter 72: Solaris in the Wires

He was the strongest man in the world. The first light. The symbol. But what's left of Solaris inside the Archive isn't a hero. It's a ghost built out of pain.

The corridor down to Node Zero hadn't been opened in months.

It was built beneath the core Archive, behind seven encrypted layers and two manual overrides. It was where raw memory lived — the kind even Aya refused to touch.

When they reached the door, the retinal scanner didn't even blink.

It just said:

"Welcome back, Hernan Vale."

Rook's breath caught.

He hadn't heard his full name spoken like that since before the blood, before the silence, before the fire in the closet.

He walked in alone.

Aya stayed at the control panel.

Echo leaned against the doorframe, whispering, "If you're not back in twenty minutes, I'm pulling you out."
