Chapter 62: The Last Broadcast From Concord
They spent decades scripting speeches. Selling salvation in capes and crests. But the world's done listening. And when the final broadcast lights up the sky, only one word answers.
Scene: Concord Broadcast Tower — 06:00 a.m.
Commander Selik stood in the middle of the Concord command chamber, flanked by aging generals and polished media advisors.
He adjusted his collar. No sweat on his brow. No crack in his voice.
Everything was rehearsed.
Even the words:
"Citizens of Earth. The time for doubt is over."
"The systems you fear are here to protect you."
"The images, the stories, the so-called memories—are corrupted. Forged by enemies who want to divide us."
He held the pause like a scalpel.
"But we are still the light."
