The lights buzzed faintly above Rook's head as he walked the length of the massive repurposed data hub. It had once powered half of Concord's surveillance grid.
Now it was being rewired for something else:
Memory.
Real memory. Unaltered. Undeleted.
Around him, volunteers typed. Civilians. Former cadets. Journalists. Retired Concord workers. Survivors. One wall was already stacked with recovered drives.
On the far end of the room, a glowing console bore the first carved words in real steel:
