Chapter 111: Silent Fangs
He continued to check the box and found other cultivation manuals and martial skills. In total, there were three other cultivation manuals and five martial skills. Among the five martial skills, two were movement techniques, while the other three were offensive methods.
He read through them briefly and realized that they were all at least Soul rank techniques. The three cultivation manuals were of the Soul rank. Two of the five martial skills were also of the profound rank, with the remaining three martial skills being of the Soul rank.
Adrian was shocked at the levels of all these techniques in front of him. One had to know that the Hundred-faced thief was a rogue cultivator. He didn’t belong to any organization. Every skill and technique he had was something he worked very hard to acquire on his own.
Of course, his ’hard work’ consisted of stealing from noble families and sects, but that was besides the point. The point was that he wasn’t given anything. A rogue transcendent realm cultivator was already very rare. For a cultivator to reach that power level, they would have to belong to a certain power.
Even if they didn’t initially, once they were able to take that step, it was very common for them to join a family or sect. The resources needed for a Transcendent realm cultivator were vast and not easily found.
If they decided to remain rogue cultivators, it would take them a long time before they could even advance a single level. At that realm, being stuck on a level for decades wasn’t uncommon. That was how slow cultivating at that realm was.
Joining a noble faction would ensure a steady supply of resources for them, which would shorten that time, ensuring that they could keep progressing. They would also gain status in the process.
This was the reality of all those ’guest elders’ who were present in sects and noble families. They were related to those powers but not really members of them as well.
Adrian decided to keep these techniques for the future. He wasn’t able to use them now, and he was sure that the Sage of Slaughter’s inheritance would have something better for him, but that didn’t diminish the value of these books.
There were a lot of things he could do with it. For example, one of these books would be enough to catch the interest of multiple large noble families. He could simply put it up for auction and sell it to the highest bidder.
Of course, he wasn’t going to do that. Doing that at this stage was equivalent to putting a gigantic target on his back. Rather than buying it from him, they would much rather kill him and take it off his dead body.
