Chapter 108: Inner Regions
Adrian realised that he was in the inner regions of the Misty Mountains. The sheer thought alone caused sweat to start dripping down his back. He was very surprised that the exit of the mystic realm led him to the inner regions.
’What was that damn old man thinking?’ He thought to himself in frustration. He finally realised what the Hundred Faced thief meant when he said ’if you can survive.’ How the hell was he supposed to survive inside the inner regions?
The outer regions were already dangerous enough to kill him if he wasn’t careful, now he had to somehow survive and escape inside the inner regions.
He wanted to start running, but he wasn’t sure which direction would lead him back to the outer regions. Just as he was thinking, he heard the howl of the beast from before. This time it was closer, closer than before.
"Shit!" Adrian muttered before he started running in the opposite direction from the howl. If the howl was getting closer, that meant the beast was also not far away. Its reason for getting closer, Adrian didn’t want to find out.
However, he hadn’t gotten far when something unexpected happened. A sharp sword light shot towards him from behind a boulder. Adrian, not expecting the sudden attack, was caught off guard and was in immediate danger.
The attack was too fast and too unexpected, causing him to lose his footing.
However, this accidental movement saved his life. His body collapsed onto the ground, narrowly avoiding the sword strike. The gleaming sword strike bypassed his body, slicing off the tip of his hair.
He quickly rolled through and hid behind a big tree, while simultaneously putting on his hood. It had become second nature to him at this point. Making sure his real identity was always hidden.
