Chapter 39: BOYS’ NIGHT
"Ayaka!" Kakashi yelled, trying to make her look at him which worked. He quickly held her close to himself "I just want you to know that I... I want to be there for you, I want you to depend on me more, and I want you to keep believing in me"
Ayaka's face turned red, and she tried to move backward, but the wall restricted her.
"Wh... where is this coming from!?" Ayaka asked, rather flustered.
"...I-I just wanted you to know that you're not alone, that I'm here if you need me. I don't care what it takes, I'll do anything to protect you" Kakashi smiled.
"You promise?, You'll always be with me?, You'll never leave?" Ayaka said with her eyes filled with tears.
"Of course. Besides, you were the one who said I'm your hero"
"Y... You remember that?" Ayaka tried to hold back her tears as she hugged Kakashi tightly, her sharp fingernails pinched into his skin but he hugged her back.
"Yeah, we should never talk about it again"
Ayaka giggled and broke the hug. "Sure, we won't. The main reason I went after that demon was because of dad"
"I understand. Don't worry about the demon, I'll take care of it" Kakashi patted Ayaka's head, her tails suddenly appeared and began to wag. "Just get more rest and leave the rest to your hero"
Kakashi stood up and walked to the door and opened it.
