Chapter 10: THE INCIDENT
The boy yelled, charging toward Kakashi at full speed. As the boy was about to stab him, Megumin held his hand and threw him at another person who was fighting.
"Kakashi, what are you doing?" She asked, surprised to see Kakashi standing still.
"I don't want to kill because someone says we should," Kakashi said, staring at nothing. "I don't have the right to take someone's life."
"So does that mean you're going to stay here until someone else kills you? Don't you want to see her??" She asked, but Kakashi didn't reply.
She reached out to Kakashi's pocket and brought out the photo that his mother had given to him before her death.
"Don't you want to see Tokah??" She shouted, showing him the photo right on his face. Kakashi stared blankly at the picture when another person attacked them, and Megumin took care of her.
Kakashi couldn't tell why Megumin had always cared for him.
[I mean, not that I didn't expect it, but she shouldn't go to this length because of me]
According to what Megumin told him, her mother died during childbirth and her dad had always blamed her for it, she was later sold out to these people, and that is how she has been living in the lab for the past twelve years.
But, she is different compared to before. Megumin never wanted to escape the lab, at least that was what Kakashi had thought, but after the day Kakashi and Kenji fought, she changed. She now wants to escape just as much as the others, Kenji and Saito had taken it upon themselves to make sure that Megumin gets to see the outside world, at least once.
"What do you suggest we do?" Kakashi asked after coming back from his thoughts.
