Brian hurriedly made his way to the source of the commotion.
The argument had already concluded.
A crowd was dispersing with mutterings and cursings, leaving a small stall behind.
On the stall, a middle-aged man clad in a Taoist robe, also muttered curses as he returned a plate of black pills, about the size of longan fruits, to the table and sat down cross-legged, waiting for the next fated person to inquire about the price.
It was then Brian noticed that this area resembled a market place.
Stalls were lined up along the roadsides, mostly selling reagents and some food-like items in small quantities, with informational signs placed beside them.
These were usually custom order businesses, not really typical market stalls.
Furthermore, the areas where the reagents were displayed were marked as being in cooperation with official organizations only, not for private transactions.
Each area had different research priorities.
Some organizations selected appropriate partners for collaboration, and private families also sought to foster their own growth by establishing secret collaborations with countries where official partnerships were unsuitable.
