Chapter 288: The accusation...
Selene POV
I sat in the nursery, cradling my newborn son against my chest. His tiny, delicate form nestled perfectly in my arms as he suckled, his tiny fingers gripping my shirt with surprising strength for someone so small. His sisters, Maeve and Vina, were gathered around, their eyes wide with wonder.
"He’s so tiny," Maeve whispered, her silver-blue eyes gleaming with amazement.
"Can I touch him, Mama?" Vina asked, her voice filled with awe. The older of the two, Vina always had a touch of confidence in her requests, but today, her voice was gentler, more tentative.
I smiled softly, nodding. "Of course, sweetheart. Just be gentle."
Vina reached out with a careful hand, her fingers grazing the soft cheek of the baby. A wide grin spread across her face. "He’s so soft! Like a little cloud."
Maeve giggled, her curiosity growing as she inched closer. "He’s beautiful," she murmured, her expression filled with awe. "I can’t believe he’s our brother."
Noah stood nearby, watching the scene with a warm smile on his face. His dark eyes softened as he gazed at our child, pride and love radiating from him. "He sure is something, isn’t he?" he said, his deep voice low and full of affection. He reached over and gently brushed a strand of hair from my face, his touch lingering for just a moment longer.
When the baby was done feeding, I carefully placed him in Noah’s arms. Noah accepted him with a look of awe and reverence as if he were holding something far more precious than any crown or kingdom. Maeve and Vina crowded around him, giggling and whispering to each other.
"Uncle Noah, can I hold him next?" Maeve asked eagerly, her little hands reaching up.
"Maybe when he’s a little bit bigger, okay?" Noah replied, chuckling softly. "He’s still really tiny, and we need to make sure he’s nice and safe."
