I laughed, my body shaking as tears gathered at the corner of my eyes.
When I was done, I turned to Jared who was watching me silently.
"This so-called power, is there any way I can transfer it to you?" I asked. "I know I don’t have the ideal kind of wolf but I was born a werewolf, Jared. And to further prove my point, my children too were born in fact with their wolves. I know it’s not supposed to manifest until they become teenagers but guess what, they were born with theirs. To prove how werewolf, they are and now you sit there and try to paint yourself as some good guy... c’mon... stop with the lies already,".
"I am not lying, Selene. There’s no need to lie. Do you think dying in place of Noah would change anything? Another cycle will follow through, once every thousand years, two mates who are supposed to love and cherish their union will go through the same ordeal you had to suffer. Who knows... since it kind of runs in the family, one of your children or grandchildren might become victims,".
"That’s not true," I countered. "My death will appease ...".
