Chapter 134: Tiny squabbles or misunderstandings...
Selene POV
"Yes, I am," Xavier nodded sending a smile towards me "And it’s all thanks to Selene... she helped me a lot. How are you all doing? The last thing I remembered was discussions centred around Conrad and something about him trying to take over the pack. Has the dust settled now? Are you guys alright?"
"Yes!" Lucius nodded drawing close to him "Everything is fine now. Conrad has been defeated and all his soldiers including the henchmen he had come with are behind bars now waiting for trial but everything is fine. It’s all thanks to you, Alpha... you saved us and we’re truly grateful for that,".
Xavier chuckled "I’m just glad everything worked out in the end," he paused and turned to look at Kragen who had retired to one corner still pounding in the pestle and mortar "Can I go now? I feel fine... if not better than how I’ve been feeling recently,".
"I am not a doctor!" Kragen snapped looking up from what he was doing. His gaze flitted to mine for a second and I mouthed an apology. Scoffing, he took a deep breath and turned to face Xavier again
"I’m trying to brew more herbs and tonics for you. You may feel fine now but it’s only short bouts of energy. Until..." he trailed off with a deep sigh "The treatment I will be giving to you is temporary solutions. I’m sure you’ll be able to figure out the rest yourself,".
"Wait!" Lucius raised his hand as he turned to me eyeing me suspiciously "When Xavier mentioned you helped him, didn’t it mean that you finally mated with him to regain his strength or something like that?"
"Nope!" I told him pointedly "In case you have all forgotten, I am married and Xavier is my ex-husband. All of this is Kragen. He helped resuscitate Xavier as you all can see. I had nothing to do with it. So, you should direct all your thanks to him,".
"So, if Kragen had not been here, you wouldn’t have saved him?" Lucius’s voice cracked as his eyes regarded me with disbelief "What the fuck is wrong with you, Selene? He is not just your mate, he’s the father of your children... would you do this to them because of tiny squabbles or misunderstandings?"
