Noah POV
I saw as Xavier’s face fell and for a while, I felt so victorious watching how his eyes darted with confusion.
"This is not a competition, Noah," he said "This is about trying to make her not experience what she did the other time. Is it too much to ask for?"
"And who makes you her spokesperson? My wife and I am doing fine. You came here to see your children, feel free to spend all the time you want with them but as for Selene, she’s unavailable to you at the moment,".
"Why?" He questioned slowly "Are you afraid that I may take her from you?"?
"You couldn’t keep her with you despite doing seven years together and two children. Your wife was so eager to leave you and be with another man who she doesn’t love. Do you think you have won or you can take her when you want?" Noah taunted.
I watched as his fists curled with anger then without saying anything, he turned on his heels and walked out of the office.
As soon as he left, I relaxed visibly. He was right... but this was a final attempt to keep Selene to myself.

I waited until the door closed before I reached out to Selene, as I made to touch her, she flinched breaking my heart into pieces.
