"Did something happen?"
Reid followed me hot on my trail as soon as I left the pack house. I was piping hot. Last night was still playing fresh in my head. For the life of me, I didn’t know what I did to Selene for her to hate me so much. Snippets of the pure disgust I had seen on her face came back to me.
She didn’t like me enough to give me her body.
To make it worse, Rio my wolf has been silent all night. At first, it had perked up with excitement but after I tried kissing her the first time and she brushed me away, he just slipped into reclusion. It could only mean one thing; my partner was responding to me as much as I was.
"Cancel all my meetings for today, I want to be alone,".
"I can’t ask the emissaries from the Middle East to go just because you don’t feel like it," Reid said stubbornly "They’ve been waiting for you since yesterday for an audience and they only reason they’re delaying until now is because of your wedding. It’ll be rude to turn them away,".
"Then let them wait!" I threw over my shoulders "I told you I am not in the mood to talk to anyone, Reid. Don’t make me repeat myself,".
"Are you kidding me?" Reid scoffed "You fucking know how important meeting with them is for us and the pack. Are you going to keep making excuses and keep shrieking your duty?"
"Don’t talk to me that way, Reid," I shouted "I am the King,".
"Then do your fucking duty," he stepped in front of me, matching my glare with his "Don’t turn us into a circus which you have these past few weeks. You ran away to chase a woman, now that you have her, shouldn’t you at least care for the welfare of your pack,".
