Selene POV
The ride back home was relatively quiet.
Not only was I amazed by Xavier’s charisma and how he had handled Kurtis I didn’t know they go way back. Even until now, it amazed me that he knew so much about Kurtis... even the bad points and yet kept it to himself.
I’ve never seen this side of him.
When we were a couple, I didn’t get to spend so much time with him because half the time, he was always so busy and when he wasn’t busy, he was always with Belinda while I was the pitiful wife that he only came to every full moon. I didn’t know he had such personality.
"Your wolf," he said suddenly breaking the silence as he gave me a quick glance "It seems different now, I didn’t think I could mind link you,".
"Yeah," I said listlessly closing my eyes as I leaned against the headrest of the car "Since I lost that weakness I always felt, my wolf has been doing so well," I said.
"I can tell," he nodded and we drifted into silence again.
Soon, we arrived at the Pack. As he stopped the car at the entrance of the packhouse, I could see Vina, Maeve and Noah at the front porch, they were all looking in our direction. As I reached to unbuckle my seat belt, Xavier’s hand suddenly covered mine.
"What are you doing tonight?" he asked.
The question threw me off-balance and the closeness. His hand on mine sent a delicious warm sensation to me that spread all over my body. I swallowed hard as I stared at his lips, If I stretch my head towards him for a bit, our lips would meet.
