Selene POV
"Why are you doing to me, Selene?" Noah’s voice shook as he sat on the sofa "I know you don’t feel the same way about me, but why did you accept my proposal only for you to keep going back to him?"
"Noah," I rushed to his side "Honestly, it’s not as you think it is. He was dying and the mugwort shot wasn’t working. Back when I was still his mate, any intimate act of affection used to help him heal quickly,".
Noah paused, as he raised his gaze to me "Are you trying to tell me that you would keep this up? That whenever he’s weak, you would fuck him?" his eyes flashed with anger.
"Don’t say it like that, Noah," I hung my head miserably "And it’s just one time okay? He takes mugwort shots too, so I’m sure he’ll be fine. I don’t know what happened today but it didn’t just work. I promise, Noah. It won’t happen again. I want to be with you,".
His eyes softened as he turned to me, taking my hands in his "A-Are you sure, Selene?" his voice broke. "He’s your mate after all and the father to the girls. Would you be able to be with me knowing that a part of you still yearns for him,".
"No part of me yearns for him, Noah," I tried to convince myself "And the only reason why everything seems quiet now is because we’ve not stayed in the same space for more than eight hours. We were destined to hate each other, Noah and only an act of true love or selflessness can break that curse. Going back to Xavier would be a disaster...".
"But the girls," he sighed "They want their father,".
"And no one is stopping them from being with him only it would be much later when they’re old enough to make decisions for themselves but for now, they’ll have to do exactly what I want. Let’s just pray that Xavier doesn’t try to do anything funny but I am convinced, I want you to be my mate,".
