Chapter 10
Before Lin Xian knew it, the time for the movie he'd booked tickets for was drawing close, and the lights dimmed.
Lin Xian craned his neck expectantly, looking towards the entrance.
Just then, a person wearing a white dress with flowing long hair came to his side.
"Moxi, glad you made it." Lin Xian was thrilled, having tried to visit Jiang Moxi several times.
But Jiang Moxi kept turning her face away, using her long hair to shield it. Lin Xian thought she was showing her true self to him and was just shy.
"Let's wait until after the movie, then I can have a good look at you."
He reached out to grab Jiang Moxi's hand. Jiang Moxi struggled only briefly before letting him hold it.
He was puzzled though, for Jiang Moxi's hand felt rough and calloused.
But then he remembered that before being taken in by the Jiang Family, Jiang Moxi had lived in the countryside.
He figured it must be the farm work that had roughened her hands.
His heart ached for her silently, vowing to treat Jiang Moxi well in the future.
