Chapter 33: Grandma Angry!
"Miss... we’ve arrived." The driver’s voice snapped her out of her thoughts.
She looked out the window; the taxi stopped right in front of Grandma’s house. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. "Thank you very much, sir. Have a nice day." She paid the taxi fare and got off the taxi.
As she got out of the taxi, she was slightly surprised to see Grandma standing near the gate, waiting for her.
"G-grandma!" Mel said in a mixed tone between fear and regret.
"Follow me!" Grandma turned around, then walked towards the house.
Mel froze, but only for a fraction of a second. With heavy steps, she follows Grandma. Her mouth felt too stiff to say something; Mel was afraid to see Grandma’s face now; she looks so angry.
’Is she furious?’ she thought.
"Have a seat...." immediately followed by "Now, please Explain!", Said Grandma, in a firm tone. Grandma was then sat on the sofa and holding her teacup. Her eyes occasionally glanced at Mel, who was still standing, with her head down.
"G-grandma, you have to trust your beloved granddaughter, okay." She coaxed Grandma with her spoiled voice; she adds " As I said earlier. Yesterday, after I finished lunch with my best friend, I went to my car parked near the restaurant, but I suddenly passed out on the road before I got to the car. Fortunately, someone helped me..." Mel told her the whole story.
Grandma listened in silence, her eyes staring intently at Mel.
Mel looked nervous, she still gathering her guts to meet grandma’s gaze.
