Chapter 274: Her Decision (2)
Iris suddenly appeared between Xavier and Xyronos, leaving them completely shocked. Despite their surprise, they continued attacking each other mentally and through their auras.
She glared at Xavier before slowly shifting her gaze to Xyronos. Even as she noticed his gasp of surprise, she couldn’t ignore the intense, killing intent emanating from him.
"Listen, if you two are going to kill each other, don’t make me witness it!" Iris said icily, restraining the pressure of their conflicting energies.
The icy aura from Xavier on her right and the burning aura from Xyronos on her left made her keenly aware of the vast strength gap between herself and these two men.
"Come on, guys! You both know I’m no match for either of you," she said, eyeing Xavier. "If you keep this up, you might end up killing me in just a few more minutes—"
Her words trailed off as she saw them instantly stop their clash of auras.
The icy coldness covering half of her body and hellfire burning the other half made her worry that she was injured internally. She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath while attempting to heal herself.
"I-Iris, are you okay?" Xavier’s voice sounded beside him. Opening her eyes, she met his concerned gaze.
"Hmm," she replied calmly, though inwardly, her heart raced, feeling flutter meeting his eyes this close. After steadying herself, she asked, "Did you finish talking to him?"
"I did." His eyes flickered with intense emotion.
"Could you wait for me with Lucian? I need to speak with him," Iris requested. When he saw his reluctance, she smiled before continuing her words, "I promise I’ll return with you. But I must talk to him first."
