Chapter 256: Don’t Hide Anything From Me
Willow Town.
Iris and the others arrived at Willow Town almost at 8 p.m.
Upon arriving at the port, she was surprised to see Xavier waiting for her since he had not mentioned that he would pick her up.
As Iris exited the yacht, she noticed Xavier’s gloomy expression and gaze. She knew something was troubling him.
"I’m surprised to see you here, Xavier..." Iris said while wrapping her hand around his arm. "I thought you would wait at home."
"I just want to go home together," Xavier smiled back at her and then asked Niles to bring Eric to their house while he and Iris rode in another car.
As soon as they got into the car, Xavier pulled Iris into his arms. He hugged her tightly while whispering in her ear, "Sorry, Iris... I—" his voice stopped, making Iris in his arms even more confused.
Iris could feel that something was bothering Xavier as if he was afraid of something. She pushed him lightly, trying to escape from his embrace, wanting to see his face. But Xavier tightened his embrace.
She waited silently, but her mind was busy guessing what was bothering him. Why has his mood changed a lot since they left the island?
Not long after, Iris could feel his embrace loosen. Slowly, she looked at his face.
"Why do you look sad and angry?" Iris asked. She gently touched his cold cheek. "Please share your worries with me, Xavier..." She demanded, but Xavier said nothing; he just turned on the car engine.
