Chapter 227: Sudden Headache
Gavriel was utterly speechless to see Iris appearing in his yard with Justin.
He had celebrated too soon, thinking his source of headache, Justin, wouldn’t bother him today. But he was wrong. After cursing Justin in his heart, he walked out to meet them.
A forced smile framed his face, "Hi, Iris... why are you guys here?" he asked, standing a few steps from them. He could see clearly that Justin didn’t want to make eye contact with him. Justin’s gaze was not as sharp as Iris’s, which made him feel more comfortable. On the other hand, Iris’s gaze was so piercing that it gave him chills.
"It’s because of you that we’re here, Gavriel," Iris gave him a half-hearted smile before continuing, "You displayed your ability in front of him; now he’s curious about your teleportation and wants to learn how to do it..."
Gavriel’s mouth twisted upon hearing her words. He narrowed his eyes, observing Justin, who still avoided eye contact. "Justin, are you sure you want to learn from me?" His tone seemed casual, but Justin perceived it as a scold, a warning.
Justin shook his head, "N-No, uncle, I don’t want to learn from you..."
"Hahaha," Gavriel couldn’t help but laugh. "I had a feeling this kid might be—"
"I’m not joking, Gavriel," Justin’s serious tone abruptly halted Gavriel’s words.
Gavriel narrowed his eyes, observing Justin closely. After a few seconds, he talks to Iris through her mind, ’—Iris, has he returned already? Why do his tone and gaze resemble the mature Justin I know?’
Iris was also stunned, mirroring Gavriel’s surprise. For a brief moment, she thought of the mature Justin who spoke with them.
’I’m not certain...’ She answered him, feeling confused.
