Chapter 209: Demon’s Nest
In a remote, forsaken town, Xavier appeared above a decrepit building.
He lingered, silently observing the city below, a desolate expanse resembling a ghost town.
The cityscape lay shrouded in darkness, untouched by the feeble glow of a half-moon. No gleaming lights pierced the pitch-black night, and an unsettling silence hung in the air.
There was an eerie absence of sound—the usual hum of passing vehicles or the distant echo of human voices. Not even the nocturnal creatures dared disturb the oppressive silence. The atmosphere in this forsaken place was a haunting quiet.
Amidst this profound silence, the only audible presence was the ghostly whisper of leaves stirring with the touch of the wind. Yet, the absence of city lights did not hinder Xavier; the emptiness only sharpened his senses. In mere minutes, he spots his target.
A fierce, murderous aura emanated from him as his golden eyes gradually turned crimson red. Enveloped by a dark aura, he vanished from his place and reappeared a few miles away in an abandoned building. Slowly, he closed his eyes to sense his surroundings.
"You’re tardy!" Xavier’s cold voice echoed without him turning from the house ahead.
At the same time, Lucian appeared beside him, his long black robe fluttering slightly in the wind. Glancing at Xavier, who displayed no expression, Lucian could tell that Xavier’s lethal aura was exceptionally potent.
"Have you located them?" Lucian asked.
