When Eric asked Iris to leave them alone to speak, she felt a bit anxious. Still, upon hearing Eric’s thoughts, she swiftly went out, flashing a playful smile at Xavier.
’Please, be kind in your words to him, Xavier... he’s my brother, my only family!’ Iris warns him through his mind before leaving them to converse.
It felt comforting to have an older brother to discuss how Xavier should treat her like a princess—something she missed when living with him. Not just that matter, but many things.
Marrying Xavier seemed unreal to Iris. They never had any celebrations. There were no parties, no grand wedding. She didn’t even visit the courthouse to sign their marriage certificate; Xavier simply handed her a form to sign, and shortly after, their marriage certificate was ready.
Iris asked Xavier if he manipulated the marriage registrar’s thoughts to issue their marriage certificate. However, Xavier always responded vaguely. Eventually, she grew tired of asking again.

Iris didn’t answer him, but her eyes landed on Niles, who sat next to Justin, deep into his game, clicking away at his joystick. She hadn’t seen much of Niles lately; he seemed super busy with Xavier’s stuff outside.
