Chapter 139: Confusing
Maya, busy behind the coffee machine, was surprised when she saw Iris enter the cafe.
"Good morning, Iris. I’m so happy to see you," Maya smiled at her and continued making coffee. "What brings you here?" she asked excitedly.
Iris smiled back at Maya. She joined her behind the counter and sat in the cashier’s chair. "I have free time today, so I decided to come and help you guys," she said while checking the order list. "Can you and Kevin manage the cafe on your own?"
She was concerned because usually, this cafe was run by three people, but now only two. She knew they must be overwhelmed.
"So far, we’ve been able to handle things. It’s just that Kevin needs some assistance in the kitchen," Maya smiled faintly, glancing in the kitchen direction.
Iris understood what Maya was trying to say. She could only give her a faint smile. "Should we hire a part-timer to help him in the kitchen!?" she suggested.
"Well, I did suggest that to him, but he didn’t feel comfortable mentioning it to Ms. Gray," Maya explained.
Iris pondered for a while to find the best solution to this situation. With summer approaching and the temperature rising, this area would become increasingly busy with tourists heading to Lonely Mountain. Before going to the mountain, tourists often stopped by this cafe.
Considering that only two of them were managing the cafe, Iris was sure Kevin would struggle to keep up, especially with only one day off on Mondays.
