Chapter 99: Attractive Girl
’Why are my memories of my hometown slowly fading? Is the erasure of my past memories still ongoing? Will I eventually forget my origin completely?’ Iris couldn’t help but feel both puzzled and frightened.
Iris was scared at the idea of losing all her memories from her previous life. Determined not to let go of everything she could remember, she started documenting it all. At the very least, she needed to understand why she had died.
She quickly opened her laptop and began typing out the details she could recall: her visit to Matterhorn Mountain in Switzerland, her last memory before her death. However, the reasons behind her trip and the circumstances of her death remained frustratingly elusive.
A sudden realization struck her as she typed, and she slapped her forehead in a moment of revelation.
"If I died there, there must be news about it. They would have found my dead body and buried it somewhere!"
Opening her web browser, she initiated a search for winter-related deaths in that area. She vividly remembered the intense cold she had experienced after her death, which strongly suggested she had perished in a frigid environment, possibly the snowy forest. These clues seemed to be interconnected.
However, after a few minutes of searching local news, she found nothing and a sense of disappointment washed over her. Then, a new thought occurred to her. "Wait! Considering my personality, someone who dislikes cold places and has never taken a vacation, it’s possible I went there for a mission, right?"
Her eyes sparkled with newfound hope, and a broad smile graced her face as she realized the possibility. "Damn! How could I forget? If I can’t find news about myself, there should surely be reports about my target, right?"
Iris’ fingers danced across the keyboard again. She felt a nameless sensation, imagining that she would soon find the clue she was desperately searching for.
