Chapter 42: Maybe It Was Just Gossip
Iris grabbed Justin’s hand and pulled him into a corner. When she saw Xavier and Niles continue on their path to class, she took a deep breath, her tension easing slightly.
"Justin, please, don’t let Xavier in on this matter," Iris said in hushed tones. Even though no one was nearby, she kept her voice low to ensure only Justin could hear.
However, Justin didn’t catch a single word Iris uttered at that moment. He was engaged in an inner conversation with Xavier.
’Hurry up! Keep it brief. Don’t linger talking with her,’ Xavier’s icy voice echoed in Justin’s mind.
’Understand, Milord,’ Justin responded.
’And, after the class, I’ll bring her to our house. You can inform her that her car will be waiting there. Ensure she doesn’t find out the owner of the vehicle.’
’I shall execute your orders diligently, my lord.’
With that, Xavier enters the class with Niles.

"Justin! Hey, Justin!? Why are you ignoring me?" Iris punched Justin’s arm, jolting him to respond. She had asked the question before, but Justin remained utterly silent, his gaze fixed on her blankly as if her charm had put a spell over him.
Iris can’t help but roll her eyes. ’Gosh! Even though we are best friends, he is only a man. He must be mesmerized by my beauty, right?’
