Chapter 13: I’m Sorry, Grandma!
She had to seek forgiveness from her grandmother and make a sincere promise to change, to become a much better version of herself.
With these thoughts in mind, Iris made her way to her grandmother’s room, her heart pounding with nervousness. As she stood outside the door, she took a deep breath to steady herself.
Gently knocking on the door, Iris called out, "Grandma, it’s me, Iris. May I come in?"
There was a brief pause before her grandmother’s soft voice replied, "Of course, dear. Come in."
Pushing open the door, Iris entered the room, feeling a surge of emotions. Her grandmother was sitting in her favorite armchair near the French window, smiling warmly.
"Good morning, my dear Iris. What brings you here?" asked Cassandra, her eyes filled with concern and love. "Are you hungry?" She remembered that her granddaughter had not eaten since last night. However, instead of receiving an answer, her granddaughter began to cry, causing Cassandra to wince.
"What happened, dear?" Cassandra said.
Tears welled up in Iris’ eyes as she took a step forward. "Grandma, I’m so sorry for how I’ve acted all along. I know I’ve been thoughtless and selfish, taking you for granted. But I promise you, from this moment on, I will change. I will become the Iris you deserve, a granddaughter you can be proud of."
"Y-You remember? Your memories return?" Cassandra feels a surge of happiness.
