"What? My husband is out of town! Why didn’t he tell me?" asked Rose, confused. Since they married, Evan never went out of town without telling her.

Before Sam could explain, Rose continued, "Is there a problem there? That’s why he didn’t have time to tell me!?"
"I think so. But boss, sorry for being late to tell you, Gavin called earlier to look for you, but your phone was busy..." Sam said.
After Sam saw Lady Boss’ face suddenly change, he continued, "Don’t worry, boss, they’ll be back in the afternoon...." Apparently, Sam tried to persuade his irritated boss.
Rose felt a little relieved to hear that. She could only nod at Sam, but somehow she still felt annoyed that this incident happened when Evan wasn’t here to clean up this mess — a coincidence that was not on their side.

Rose nearly choked. How could she forget? Earlier, when talking to Sam, she dialed Oliver’s number.
