Chapter 424: I Will Never Betray You
What Evan heard as he entered the room...
"Evan! Did you really betray me!?"
His heart sank when he heard that; his wife had seen the news.
"Not. I did not betray you."
Rose was utterly shocked when she heard Evan’s voice. She looked towards the door. When Evan’s figure came into view, her body could not help but tighten.
Since when was he there?
"I will never betray you..." Evan’s deep voice echoed through the room. He slowly walked over to the bed, sat on the edge, and wiped her tears. As their eyes locked, he continued, "Don’t cry. There’s nothing between that woman and me...."
"B-But..." Rose stopped talking when she saw Evan’s eyes shine with sincerity and affection for her. There was no anxiety, panic, or betrayal. From there, this man was telling the truth.
She felt confused. Were her suspicions exaggerated?
"I promised you before we got married. You’re the only woman in my heart. And until now and then, forever...." Evan took her hand. He was surprised when he felt her hand feel so cold. He squeezed it gently, trying to convey warmth to her. "Please, my dear, trust me, huh!? I will never betray you...."
Evan’s sincere words could make Rose’s heart feel a little better.
