Chapter 345: Reason
Rose finished her coffee before she asked.
"Hubby, can I ask you a question?"
"Sure. What is in your mind?"
"I heard you were a talented marksman. And became my grandfather’s apprentice. Is that true?"
Evan chuckled lightly at her question. He was very talented, but that was a long time ago when he was a teenager. Old Spencer wanted to recruit him because he had the potential to become a soldier, but that was impossible for him to do.
"You’re right. I used to be one of your grandpa’s favorite disciples. Since I was a teen, I have been training with him until I grew up and went to college. The old man Spencer started training me to be a soldier very early. I really enjoyed every time I spent training as a soldier. In fact, it crossed my mind to become a general like your grandfather. But..." Evan paused for a moment. He cast his gaze towards the city to hide his regretful expression.
"Even though I like and want to enter the military, it’s not possible; I am the only successor of the Collins family. My parents and grandfather did not allow me to serve in the military. It was too risky." Evan continued his words after taking a deep breath, "Finally, I stopped training with Old Spencer and started learning to be an entrepreneur. "Ah, now I understand why my grandfather was so disappointed, but he can’t force you either...." said Rose.
