Rose’s worries turned out to be wrong. Her father was a faithful man. He understands that what he did in the past was a mistake. But he didn’t run away from it either. Instead, he plans to propose to her mother if only God didn’t mess with their fate. They were separated by an accident that made her mother lose her memory of him.
What happened in the past is not anyone’s fault. It’s not her mother’s fault. It’s not her father’s fault either. It seemed unfair if she blamed him, right!?
"This is not your fault..." Rose finally can string a word after many minutes pass by. "I don’t have a reason to reject you as my father. But..." She paused as she remembered the possibility that this man already had a wife and family. Indeed, his family will reject her.
There was no way his family would accept a child out of wedlock. They will banish her. It’s better for her to live alone with her mother than to suffer like that.
Nicholas was stunned when he saw the worry on his daughter’s face. His daughter seemed to avoid eye contact with him. She lowered her head, looking at her hands on her tight.
Why does she suddenly look worried and sad? Like, something bothering her mind.
"But, what?" Nicholas asked calmly.
Rose slowly raised her head only to meet his calming eyes. Somehow she felt a little courage to say what was on her mind at this moment.
"I... I am afraid your new family will not be happy with my existence. You know, my status, child out of... " Before Rose could finish her sentence, Nicholas raised his hand to stop her from continuing her words.
