"What plan?"
"About having children. I... I think I want to spend my life with you in a year. Hubby, am I being too selfish to want that?" Rose paused to catch her breath and asked him for a polite nod, but she saw Evan didn’t show any reaction. This makes her worry.
She continued, "I’m really guilty because I’m not discussing this with you. That’s why I feel so mad at myself right now...."
Evan was surprised to hear what was on her mind. He pulled her into his arms and hugged her tightly. Every time she saw her blurry eyes, he felt his heart ache.
"Rose, my wife, please don’t cry, huh!? I’m not disappointed with you because you stopped me. I also wasn’t disappointed with you because you did not discuss your plan with me. I’m fine. I really respect what you want. And, did you know the funny thing is?" Rose looked up to see his eyes.
He continued, "I also don’t want a child for our first year of marriage. I want to have you alone, don’t want to share with the tiny creatures... But, I am afraid to ask you, afraid you want to have a child soon...."
"Really?" Rose smiles, hearing his words. She was trying to read whether he was telling the truth or was just to make her feel better. "You are not angry? You don’t disappoint me?"
"Nope! I will never." He tightens his embrace before he continues, "Wife, we still have plenty of time to do that. Why should I be mad at you now?"
Rose silently smiles, hearing his words. She felt relieved and happy. Suddenly she felt her eyes were heavy, and in a few minutes, she fell asleep in his arms.
