Chapter 161: Evil In-Law
"Daughter, how about Evan’s parents? Have they accepted you?" Molly worries that her past will make Evan’s parents reject her daughter.
Rose was silent for a moment. Evan’s father hasn’t given his blessing, but his mother really likes her. And for her, Evan’s mother’s blessing is enough.
"Yes, sure, mom!" Rose paused as she realized her mother must not have known that Evan’s mother was Aunty Doris, her doctor. "Mom, you will be shocked if you know who Evan’s mother is...."
Molly frowns, looking at her daughter. "Did I know her? Is she a public figure?" She was worried if Evan’s family wasn’t from ordinary people like her. Her daughter would definitely have a hard time dealing with her future in-laws.
Her daughter might be cast out of the Evan family. Just thinking about it makes Molly’s heart feel slightly aching. She couldn’t let it happen. She couldn’t bear to hear or see her daughter poorly treated by her in-laws.
"Daughter! You must be honest with mom if Evan’s parents are against you. I won’t let Evan snatch you from me! If they disagree with you... so you better break up with him!"
Even though she likes Evan, she doesn’t want her daughter to have an unhappy marriage. Molly prefers her daughter shouldn’t marry Evan than for her to endure the pain of living with her evil in-law.
The shadows of the ’makjang’ from Korean dramas she used to watch were now disturbing her mind. The evil mother-in-law who tortured her daughter-in-law was always successfully stirring her emotions. Just seeing the drama makes her emotional. What if it happened to her own little daughter? After so many struggles raising her little daughter alone? No way! She will never allow that!
"My in-law is so kind to me, Mom. Please don’t be worried. And, guess what!? You already met Evan’s mother but didn’t realize it." Rose smiled.
