Chapter 159: Shocked
Rose didn’t spend much time in her room. After a few minutes, she returned in the simple clothes she usually wears at home. But when she arrived in the living room, she didn’t see her mother, only Evan, who was focused on watching the news on TV. His face was so serious till he didn’t notice her presence.
Curious about the news, Rose glanced at the TV screen and was surprised to see the TV showing the presidential election candidates being announced. Rose knows who will win this presidential election; Jayson Spencer, father of Sean Spencer, her savior.
Rose is increasingly amazed by the Spencer family. They are so influential in this country’s military, politics, and economy.
Thinking about Spencer, reminded Rose of an appointment with sister Amanda Spencer who had called her several times just to confirm their meeting. Amanda Spencer had a different personality from most rich girls. Usually, they will not randomly make friends with anyone. But Amanda Spencer is different, she has an approachable personality, which made Rose comfortable to chat with her and now they became close to each other even though they had only met once.
"Your uncle is running for president? What are his chances?" Rose asks as she sits beside Evan.
"Well, I’m not interested in politics, and I don’t really care about his chances."
"I think your uncle will definitely win the election." Rose nonchalantly said. Then, before Evan could reply, she directly continued, "Where’s my mom?"
Evan frowned at Rose, taken aback by what she just said about his uncle. Still, after seeing her smile, he knew this girl was just saying random political stuff and wasn’t really interested in politics. He turned off the television and stood up from his seat.
"Mother went downstairs to the minimart. She asked you to eat your breakfast...." Evan took Rose’s hand and led her to the dining table. "Hungry? Eat your breakfast, this is almost lunch, and you haven’t eaten anything yet. You might get sick..."
