Chapter 95: Who is Lady Boss?
In Vale City - Star Building 25th Floor.
"Gavin, why has boss Evan looked so scary since morning? He had no mercy on us at all!" Whispered Gary Stuart, Director of Starlight Investment, Vale city branch.
Since this morning, the ambiance in the meeting room has been tense. Boss Evan, who arrived from the capital, didn’t show a friendly-looking face to all of them. The contract draft to purchase an oil refinery in the Southern Seas is still not yet done. There were many revisions after the final check, which made Boss Evan displeased. Meanwhile, the deadline for bidding is getting closer. They must submit the contract to the local government at 2 PM.
Now, it’s almost lunchtime, but Boss Evan seemed to make their draft contract meaningless. Every time they gave him a draft contract, Boss Evan always found mistakes that needed to be corrected.
The directors and the legal team worked quickly to revise according to boss Evan’s wishes. They didn’t have much time left, for the proposal had to be submitted. If they are late in submitting, their chances of buying The Oil Refinery will fail.
Gavin, who was typing something on his laptop, stopped as he looked at Gary Stuart. He smirks before saying, "This is because of you. Why do you call him to come here! Tsk... tsk... tsk... You better finalize the document, or you guys will be finished..."
The meeting room was serene again. The only sound that could be heard was the sound of fingers dancing on the keyboard. Everyone is busy with the task of finalizing the contract. Sometimes discussions could be heard. But most of the time, they talk in low voices, afraid their voices would provoke Boss Evan, who looks busy behind his laptop screen.
Evan sat in a president’s chair without looking at all the directors who sat before him. He was immersed behind his laptop. His head hurt a little bit from reading so many documents. Luckily he can read fast and has a strong memory. It is enough to read once, and what he reads will be stored in his mind.
After a few minutes, he finished his stuff. He remembered his purpose in coming here. It felt like his head was getting worse. All the managers and directors in this office challenge his patience. How can they hand over a contract with so many flaws? His company will be in big trouble if they submit that rubbish contract.
